HerndonPRIDE 2024 was a tremendous success—and it wouldn’t have happened without the support of so many.

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible team who expedited the event license and helped us bring this celebration to life. The day was filled with energy, joy, and an inspiring sense of community.

We transformed the back of our space into a full performance venue, extended into the side lot with tents and shade, and welcomed wonderful partners including Herndon Friends Quakers, PFLAG, Free Mom Hugs, Dulles Triangles, local churches, and Supervisor Jimmy Bierman’s office.

And rather than use food trucks, we encouraged attendees to support local restaurants—many of which saw an influx of business during the festival. Sacred Skates Supply, our planning partner and co-host, was essential in making it all happen.

Thanks to Supervisor Bierman, we printed HerndonPRIDE t-shirts—which sold out by the middle of the day. With DJ Trevor and technical support from Pat Macintyre, the Arts Herndon building was alive with music, laughter, and celebration.

A fantastic evening Doom concert with DruidStone and two other bands rounded off a brilliant day – enjoyed by so many!! One of the most exciting moments came when leadership from Reston Pride visited and invited us to consider a joint event in 2026.

Thank you to everyone who attended, performed, supported, and shared in this special day.HerndonPRIDE is about building community through the arts—and this year, we truly did just that.

Thank you so very much

Jo

This year’s festival features amazing vendors, artists, performers, and a brand new addition: a Roller Disco with partners Sacred Roller Skate Supply.

Sacred Roller Skate Supply - Rolling with Heart in Herndon

Located at 681 Monroe St., Herndon, Sacred Roller Skate Supply is more than a skate shop — it’s a love letter to community, connection, and the freedom of movement.

Founded by longtime Herndon resident Katie McDonald, Sacred Roller began with a simple Valentine’s Day gift: a pair of roller skates from their husband. That spark ignited a deep passion for the sport — and revealed a gap in local access to quality skating gear and support. Katie stepped up to fill it.

The name “Sacred” reflects what skating means to them: a powerful mix of strength, fearlessness, and belonging. Their shop fosters a judgment-free space where beginners and seasoned skaters alike can connect, gear up, and grow together.

Katie’s mantra? - “Come for the skates; stay for the camaraderie and good vibes.”

Opening Sacred Roller in their hometown is Katie’s way of giving back to the community that shaped them. Whether you’re just lacing up or already living on wheels, Sacred Roller Skate Supply welcomes you to roll with purpose — and plenty of joy.
